PEREGRINE SOLAR PROJECT

PIONEERING IRA COMPLIANCE IN TEXAS SOLAR DEVELOPMENT
In the fall of 2022, Jones Power was selected as the civil construction contractor for the PEREGRINE SOLAR PROJECT, a 300-megawatt utility-scale solar power facility spanning 2,000 acres in Goliad County, Texas. This project presented unique challenges as it coincided with the implementation of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), requiring innovative solutions and proactive planning.
Our comprehensive scope of work included SWPP installation and the extensive task of clearing and grubbing all 2,000 acres of the project site—one of the largest clearing operations in our portfolio. Additional responsibilities included site grading, access road and laydown yard construction, and crucially, ensuring IRA compliance. Despite the initial ambiguity surrounding IRA requirements, Jones Power worked diligently with the US Department of Labor to develop compliant documentation and processes. This proactive approach, coupled with our implementation of new HR, payroll, and document management systems, positioned us as industry leaders in IRA compliance. Building a skilled workforce requires not only technical expertise but also agility in navigating evolving regulatory landscapes.

Our Power Forward™ program and comprehensive compensation package, which already exceeded prevailing wage standards, were key to meeting these challenges.

This project showcases Jones Power’s ability to deliver complex solar infrastructure while pioneering regulatory compliance in a rapidly evolving industry. For innovative and compliant civil construction services in renewable energy projects, contact Jones Power today.
