ALTON POST OFFICE SOLAR PROJECT

ADVANCING VIRGINIA’S RENEWABLE ENERGY LANDSCAPE

Jones Power has completed the civil construction phase for the ALTON POST OFFICE SOLAR PROJECT, an innovative solar installation located in Halifax County, Virginia. This project represents a significant step forward in Virginia’s commitment to clean energy infrastructure.

Our scope of work focused on the crucial civil construction phase, setting the foundation for this forward-thinking solar facility. The project is thoughtfully sited on a remote parcel of land, taking advantage of existing natural buffers to minimize visual impact on the surrounding area.
Jones Power’s expertise in sustainable civil construction practices was instrumental in balancing the needs of energy infrastructure with environmental stewardship. Our team’s efforts included site preparation that respected and enhanced the local ecosystem, implementation of wildlife corridors throughout the project design, and groundwork for the interconnection to the existing Person – Sedge Hill 230 kV transmission line at the eastern edge of the project site. These measures ensure the preservation and thriving of natural habitats post-construction while facilitating efficient energy production.
The Alton Post Office Solar project is currently under construction, with our civil work complete and serving as the foundation for ongoing development. Upon completion, this facility will feed clean, renewable energy into Virginia’s power grid, contributing to the state’s transition towards sustainable energy sources.
